Personally appeared before me A. W. Majors, clerk of said county court, James Cave whose signature appears to the foregoing deed of trust and acknowledged the signing, sealing and delivery of the same to Williamson F. Mooney for the purposes therein specified on the day and year of its date. Given under my hand and seal the 5th day of October 1848.

I, A. W. Majors, clerk of the said County Court of DeKalb, Ala, certify that the foregoing trust deed was filed in this office to be recorded the 5th day of October 1848, which was duly done.

* Henry Horatio Davis was the husband of Mary Thomas Gardner, daughter of Rebecca Garrett and Thomas N. Gardner. When James Cave married the widow Rebecca Garrett Garner, he became the guardian of her children.
