Actium (present-day Akri) is a promontory and was the scene of a naval battle between the fleets of Octavian and of Antony and Cleopatra on September 2, 31 B.C. During a shift at the height of the battle, Cleopatra escaped with her squadron, followed by Mark Antony. Their defeat left Octavian master of the Roman empire. Click the button to return to the game.
