This is a transcription of the obituary for William Nathaniel Joiner that appeared in 100 Years in Bandera, 1953, in Bandera, Bandera County, TX.
William B. Joiner was born in Jackson, Mississippi, in about 1828. He served in the Mexican War, and in the Confederate army during the Civil War, and was also a member of Minute Company for frontier protection. In 1861 he was married to Miss Kate Farmer in Mississippi, and in 1873 they came to Texas and settled at Bremond. In 1880 they moved to Bandera county. Mr Joiner passed
away here September 20, 1890, at the age of 73. His wife survived him forty-four years, and died here at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E. O. Chipman, February 13, 1934, aged 94 years. Of the six children of Mr. and Mrs. Joiner, three are still living: Mrs. Mark Davenport and Mrs. E. O. Chipman of Bandera, and Sid Joiner of San Antonio.
