Oath of Allegiance of Thomas Cave Sr and Jr

On February 5, 1777, the General Assembly of Maryland enacted a law which made it necessary for all males 18 years and older to sign an oath of allegiance and fidelity to the State of Maryland and the cause of freedom. Thomas Cave Sr, Thomas Cave Jr, and Samuel Cave signed it before the Honorable Alexander Howard Magruder in Prince George's County, MD, on March 1, 1778.
