note: His will (April 17, 1796) was filed in Newberry County, SC. He served in the Revolutionary War. He was a member of Mt. Zion Society of Camden District, SC. He was the son of Mildred Taliaferro and William Strother, who later married (September 26, 1765) Winifred Baker. This man was the founder of Strother, SC, near Fairfield, SC.
