And that's the 'first thing' I remember about Forth Worth!" The Mincy family possibly arrived with their inlaws, the Monroe family, from Corinth, Alcorn County, MS. They originally came from McNairy County, TN, right on the border with Alcorn County, MS. The Forth Worth, TX, city directory (1926 and 1930) lists Thomas P. Mincy, employed at the Diamond Hill Barber Shop, and his wife Beatrice living at 2809 Oscar Avenue. In 1931, Jas G. Cave, carpenter, wife Lula, and son Jas T. (USN) were living at 3056 Oscar Avenue. |
