note: Neil McNeil and his family from Kintyre, Scotland, are on the passenger list of the ship Ulysses from Greenock, Scotland, to Wilmington, NC, dated August 1774. There may have been older children who did not emigrate. Based on the age of the oldest child, Neil and Isobel would have been about 36 when Daniel was born.
