note: His wife was the daughter of John Hancock. She was age 70-80 with her son George on the 1830 census in Shenandoah County, VA. The female age 10-16 on the 1810 census may be the female age 16-26 who shows up in the household of John E. Manuel in 1820. His signature, along with that of John Hancock Sr, is recorded on a religious petition dated December 14, 1798.
