married: Rachel Kellogg (about 1621) at Great Leighs, Essex, England
children: Rachel [John Parborow], Phoebe, Mary, Nathaniel [Elizabeth _?_],
John (?)

census:
note: It is NOT proven that Samuel Cave is the father of John Cave. His will, written (October 20, 1666) in Braintree, Essex, England, mentions his brothers John and Andrew, a sister Sarah [Hante], and his children Rachel, Phoebe, Mary, and Nathaniel. It does not mention his wife Rachel, daughter of Annie Mynot and Phillippe Kellogg, but Phillippe's will (June 4, 1657) does mention her, so she likely died between 1657 and 1666.

note: It is NOT proven that John is the son of Rachel Kellogg and Samuel Cave. His will (dated August 6, 1714, and proved in 1721) was recorded in the now lost Will Book K, page 2, in Stafford County, VA.

query: If the John Brown Cave family in SC descended from ancestors in VA, perhaps the Thomas Cave family in MD has similar roots. What is known about the son named Thomas in this generation? Is he a potential link to the MD branch? Analysis of Y-chromosome DNA supports the assertion that the MD and SC branches are connected at some point.
