In 1788, Jane Cave, with Thomas Cave listed as tithable, and in 1789, with Samuel Cave listed as tithable, appears on the tax rolls of Fauquier County, VA. She is listed separately from Thomas Cave and Samuel Cave and for the last time in 1791. His will was dated December 26, 1786, and recorded April 10, 1787, in Prince George's County, MD. It is possible that Thomas Cave Sr had other children: a daughter named Sarah (who married Leonard Eddis [sic] on (August 24, 1780) and a daughter named Elizabeth (who married Henry Lee on December 15, 1781), but they are not proven. Could Leonard Eddis actually be Leonard Edelen? *******

He appears on the 1790 tax list of Fauquier County, VA, as does his mother Jane and his brother Samuel.

There might have been a stepson named Henry Lee from her husband's first marriage. died: (1796-1800) in York County, SC? buried: note: CAVEAT: It is not proven that Elizabeth Cave is the daughter of Thomas Cave Sr. She could just as easily be the daughter of his contemporary named Samuel Cave. She is not named in the will of either man because she predeceased both of them. By the time of the 1800 census, Henry Lee was in York County, SC (previously part of Mecklenburg County, NC), without a wife. Henry Lee served during the American Revolution with George Washington's army in Prince George's County, MD, where he was mustered out. He was in VA near the District of Columbia in 1772. He taught school in MD.
