[Students registered in any one of the Distance Education Courses offered through the Department of English at Palo Alto College are required to take the Assessment Test before the second meeting of the course. If you need further assistance, there are a number of tutorials available for a wide variety of hardware and software. Some of these tutorials may be downloaded onto your computer and they can be taken off-line. These are marked with an Asterisk (*). Others may be taken online and are interactive. Finally, some of the tutorials require that you have special "plug-ins" which you can usually obtain from Netscape Navigator or MSN, Microsoft Navigator. Macintosh and Windows and DOS applications are usually noted early in the tutorial.]
