It allows educators to design the appearance of course pages, it provides a set of educational tools that can easily be incorporated into any course, and it provides a set of administrative tools that assist the educator in the task of course administration.

Used in conjunction with the online help, we hope that this tutorial will provide you with the information you need to start using WebCT for your own courses. The tutorial topics are listed below, and should be completed in the order shown.

WebCT is an integrated set of tools or components for
developing and delivering interactive courses over the web.
WebCT can be used to create entire courses on-line, or to
create an environment to supplement learning already
occuring within the classroom. Because it is web-based, it
can easily be linked to existing learning resources
anywhere on the web. This is a fine resource
with excellent tutorials.
WebCT's Reference Editor allows you to associate your course
content with external
references so that students can find supplementary information
on the current topic. These
external references can be any of three types:
references to textbooks
references to articles
references to URLs
I've outlined (below) the various features
of WebCT, illustrated with the kinds of image/icons that are
available. (All images are available as either causal or formal,
and can have imbedded text or no text,
enabling the designer to add their own labels to the image. Also,
there are several features I did not
