U.S. Navy 1942 - 1945

Fern entered the Navy in late 1942.  She was assigned to different Navy Hospitals on the U.S. East Coast and to the Navy Hospital at Corpus Christi, Texas during the duration of World War II.  She attained the grade of Pharmacist 3rd Class during her service and was discharged from the Navy on October 22, 1945.
