
She served the congregation at Zion Lutheran Church, Castroville, Texas before coming to Zion Lutheran Church of Helotes. Rev. Lundquist served on many synodical committees and task forces for the ELCA while in San Antonio. She resigned as pastor at Zion of Helotes in 1988. Upon departing Zion of Helotes, Rev. Lundquist reverted to her maiden name of Stein.
Rev. Stein accepted a call to New Hope Lutheran Church in Missouri City, Texas in August of 1991. While on staff at New Home she graduated from the Lutheran School of Theology in Chicago with a Doctor of Divinity degree in Pastoral Care and Counseling. Currently (1999), she is serving as the Pastoral Director of Congregational Care and Education.
While at New Hope Lutheran Church, Rev. Stein worked with the Ft. Bend Women's Shelter, Vitas Hospice Care, and the Ft. Bend Council for Drug and Alcohol Prevention. She helped write the sexual abuse policy for the Gulf Coast Synod of the ELCA as well as served on the Bishop's task force for implementing his vision for the synod's ministry. Currently (1999), Rev. Stein is serving as a mentor for new pastors to the Gulf Coast Synod.
