Rev. Bill Swantner
Rev. Bill Swantner is a native of San Antonio. After graduating from Jefferson High School in 1973, he attended the University of Houston for 2 years. In 1975 he transfered to the University of Texas at Austin where he was awarded a Bachelor of Music degree in 1977. He earned a Master of Music degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 1986 and from 1977 to 1990 he was a band director in the San Antonio area. In 1990, he began work on a Master of Divinity degree from the Lutheran Seminary Program of the Southwest. Pastor Swantner was awarded his Master of Divinity degree in 1994 and was ordained on June 11, 1994. He was called as the Associate Pastor of Hope Lutheran Church in San Antonio and subsequently as pastor, where he continues to serve today (August 2000). Pastor Swantner also holds a Master of Arts degree in Biblical Studies from St. Mary's University in San Antonio. He and wife Cheryl have two children, Albert and Tiffanie.
