Robert Edmond Wells

June 18, 1931 - July 7, 2002

Robert Wells was born on June 18, 1931 in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, the oldest of five children born to Mary & Walter Wells.

Robert met his wife, Lillie Gass, in early 1954 while serving at Lackland Air Force Base.  They married December 3, 1954 and their 47 year marriage has been blessed with two daughters, Mary and Janice.

When Bob saw Lillie across a room he knew he had found the girl of his dreams and he never changed his mind.

Robert's life with us came to an end on Sunday, July 7, 2002.  We look forward to our resurrection day when all who believe will be reunited in Christ.

He is survived by his wife, Lillie; daughters, Mary Sweet and Janice Wells; grandchildren, Michael Sweet, Kristan Sweet and Kendall Sweet; sister, Helen Sharpe; brother, Richard Wells & wife Doris; sister, Elizabeth Whipple and husband All; sister, Margaret Cobb and husband Rusty; and numerous other family members.

God looked around his garden and he found an empty place.  He then looked down upon this earth and saw
your tired face.  He put his arm around you and lifted you to rest.  God's Garden must be beautiful.  He
always takes the best.  He knew that you were suffering.  He knew you were in pain.  He knew that you
would never get well on earth again.  So he closed your weary eyelids and whispered "Peace Be Thine."  He
took you up to Heaven with hands so gentle and kind.  It broke our hearts to loose you, but you did not go
alone.  For part of us went with you the day God called you home. Forever In Our Heart,
Your loving family
