WEIDNER

Laura G. Weidner, age 87, passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2005.  She was born in her family home on September 17, 1917 to Emma Steubing Gass and Robert Gass of Bexar County.  She married Oswald H. Weidner on August 8, 1939.  He preceded her in death on August 28, 1981 after 42 years of marriage.  She is survived by her son, James D. Weidner and wife Cyndi; daughter, Sara W. Turner and husband Bill; grandchildren, Curtis Weidner, Suzanne Smith and husband Travis, Ross Weidner, Brandy Turner and Laura Turner; step-grandchildren, Alyssa DeLaCruz and husband Manuel, Ryan Young; great granddaughter, Jordyn DeLaCruz; brother, Karl Gass and wife Corrine; sisters-in-law, Gloria Voges and husband Jerome, and Violet Wolfshol.  She also is preceded in death by her sister, Ruby Benke, brother, Erwin Gass and daughter-in-law Sharon Weidner.  Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, February 11, 2005 at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home on Bandera Road.  A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday, February 12, 2005 at Zion Lutheran Church, Helotes with Pastor David Schulte officiating.  Interment will follow at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Helotes.  In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made in memory of Laura to the Zion Lutheran Church of Helotes Building Fund.  Please visit www.mem.com for an online memorial and tributes.  Sunset Northwest Funeral Home.
