Constance Clara Steubing

August 12, 1922 - June 6, 2000

Connie Steubing was born on August 12, 1922 in San Antonio, TX, the youngest of three children born to Ida & Otto Reinhard.  She was baptized into the Christian faith and Christ her Lord on September 30, 1922 at Bethany Evangelical & Reformed church here in San Antonio.

As a young person she played the piano, the violin, ice skated and loved to play tennis. She graduated from Fox Tech High School at the ae of 16.

Connie met Archie Steubing when she was 17 and they married on May 21, 1941.  They had one child, Barbara who was born on August 13, 1944.

She and Archie moved to a dairy farm and worked side by side for many years in the dairy business.  The work on a farm was difficult, but Connie was involved in all of it...from cooking and cleaning and sewing to milking cows.  But even while they were hardworking dairy farmers, people often came to Connie & Archie for help, and it was always there.

Her life really centered around her home and family and she loved her grandchildren.  She would play cards with them, tell them stories, and cook for them.  She had such a great memory for the past.

Connie was a very caring person and always taking care of others.  Her mission in life seemed to be making others happy.  Connie was a true Christian who never worried about herself.  Happiness seemed to come as she made other happy.

Connie died in the Lord this past Tuesday evening at the age of 77.

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara, and son-in-law, Bobby; three grandchildren, Dr. Kimberly Klein, Laurie and her husband, David Lentz, and Chad Klein.  Two sister-in-law, Ann Reinhard and Dorothy Gass, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends.
