
William H. Stetler, died on October 23, 2007 in Ocala, FL. He was born on June 21, 1921 in Middleburg, PA. He had been a resident of San Antonio since 1966 at which time his civil service position was transfered from Olmstead AFB, PA to Kelly AFB, TX. He retired from Kelly AFB in 1983. He moved to Ocala, FL in 2005. He was a graduate of Middleburg High School, attended Strayer's Business College, Philadelphia, PA and was a graduate from Thompson Business College, Harrisburg, PA. He wa a WWII Navy veteran having served as a navy recruiter until his assignment to the USS Fry Barger (DE 705). He served in the Atlantic and Pacific Theaters. Mr. Stetler was involved with The Floral Industry for 18 years. Prior to the time he accepted a civil service appointment; he owned and operated a Floral Business for 11 years in Columbia, PA. He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran and Hope Lutheran Church Choirs for several years. He was also a member of the Oasis Chorus. His involvement in music spanned most of his life. He was a member of the American Legion, NARFE, AARP, OASIS, USS Fry Barger ASSO, Destroyer Escott Sailors ASSO., 55-Plus, Louisiana Naval War Memorial Foundation, San Antonio Zooological Society, Naval Memorial Foundation, and Artisans Order of Mutual Protection, Columbia, PA. Mr. Stetler is survived by his daughter, Sharon, and son-in-law James D. Youtz of Summerfield, FL.; grandsons, James W. Youtz and wife Regina of Summerfield, Fl. and Michael J. Youtz of Ocean City, MF.; numerous nieces and nephews as well as great and great-great nieces and nephews.
His sister Leona J. Snook expired in 2004.
