The Rev. H. Paul Probst has died at his home in Holiday Beach.  Pastor Probst, born in Shreveport, LA, Nov. 17, 1921, was the son of the Rev. Hugo and Martha Wick Probst.  His childhood was spent in Rosenburg.  He attended Texas Lutheran College and graduated from the University of Texas and Wartburg Seminary in Dubuque, IA.  He was a founding member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Rockport.

Pastor Probst served Lutheran churches in Orange, Ft. Worth, Helotes, Stuttgart, and Arkansas (sic)  He was married to Caroline Marie Hoermann, who died in 1987.

In addition to his wife, Pastor Probst was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, George Probst.

He is survived by his sister, Marcie Reue of Rosenburg; nieces Marge Reue of Corpus Christi and Bonnie Bahr of San Antonio.

Funeral services were held in St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Rosenburg on July 9.  Burial was at Greenlawn Cemetery.
