On September 19, 2004, Pat Potter went to join his heavenly Father, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Pat was born on March 17, 1925 in Boerne, Texas to John and Amy Potter. He married Aileen M. De Salme on April 19, 1947 after returning from a tour of duty in the Philippines during WWII where he received a Purple Heart and two Bronze Stars for being wounded by enemy fire. After recovering from his wounds he started to work at A.J. Monier Co. where he worked for 40 years until his retirement in 1987. He was very proud of being a 57-year member of the Plumbers & Pipe Fitters Local Union No. 142 where he was an active member. He was preceded in death by his mother, Amy Joyce Potter and father John Wesley Potter; brothers, Wallace, John, Russell and Homer and his sister, Joyce. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Aileen; children, Patty Taylor and husband Don, Tom Potter and wife Janice, Gerald Potter and wife Amy, Mark Potter, Karen Pierce and husband Michael; grandchildren, Tommy Potter, Patrick Potter, Kevan Potter and wife Kara, Daniel Potter and wife Kim, Steven Potter, Kelly and Shannon Potter, Jeff Taylor and wife Paige, Leslie Austin and husband Conner, Curtis, Kimberly, Clint and Amie Potter, Gerald and Michael Potter, Brandon Herrera and Heather Pierce; sisters, Amy Potter and Alice Mae Blunt; numerous nieces and nephews. Also surviving are longtime friends, Matt Ottea, Dick and Ginny Andricks; brothers and sisters-in-law, Delores and Paul Morkovsky, Ann and Wes Burford, Adolph and Judy De Salme, Margie Potter. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Visitation will begin 5:00 P.M., Tuesday, September 21, 2004 with a 7:00 P.M. Rosary at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 9:00 A.M., Wednesday, September 22, 2004 at Basilica of the Little Flower Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Helotes, TX.
