PORLIER

Alvira Porlier, age 88, of Kerrville, TX, died Sunday, January 7, 1996.  She was the first civilian born on Ft. Sam Houston, prior to the Government buying all the surrounding lands, and the families moving out - circa Sept. 6, 1907.  Her mother was a Klaus and owner of the red brick building on New Braunfles Avenue, where they operated a general merchandise store and saloon.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Darius R. Porlier in 1994.  Survivor: niece, Elaine Porlier Ruede, Jackson, MI
