PALMER


MSgt. Charles Leon Palmer, USAF (Ret.), went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 19, 2003, a beautiful sunny day.  He was born on May 24, 1932 in Greenville, AL to Lewis Palmer and Myrtle Rodgers who preceded him in death.  He is survived by his soul mate and devoted, loving wife of over 21 years, Cheryl Palmer; son, Joe Lieck; daughter, Charlene McCall and husband Jim and two grandchildren, Albert and Elizabeth.  Also surviving are his loving younger sister and brother, Myrtle Faye Johnson and James Monroe Palmer; father and mother-in-law, Raymond and Myrtle Lieck; stepfather, Benjamin Rodgers; mother-in-law, Grace Palmer; brother-in-law, Robert Johnson; sisters-in-law, Gail Palmer and Debra Lieck; brother and sister-in-law, Frank (Gerry) Condel and wife Carolyn; nephews, Bryan Palmer and wife Velma, Bill Pollard and wife Robin, Garrett Condel and wife Amina; nieces, Tamara Porter and husband David, Della Pollard-Cuddy and husband Steve and Laurie Condel; great-nieces, Jessica and Shanna Pollard-Cuddy, Rachel Porter and Lauren Condel; great-nephew, Alexander Porter plus numerous relatives and friends.  Pallbearers: his special and best friends, his golfing buddies, Vernon Shettle, Pete Tattersall, Chester Lyons and Harry Lowe; nephews, Bryan Palmer and Bill Pollard.  Honorary Pallbearers: Calvin Stuckey, Winfred Stuckey, Bud Stuckey, Ronnie Stuckey, Gene Long, Leo Jones, Gerry Condel, David Porter, Garrett Condel, Julio Ybanez, Dick Lucas, Rocky Nelson, Bobby Deal, Dave Wilhem, Richard Koehler, Ron Talbot and Henry Bruce-Gonzales.  Chuck was a member of Amazing Grace Lutheran Church for almost 20 years, being baptized and confirmed by the Rev. Michael Robinson on February 5, 1984.

SERVICES
The family will receive friends Thursday, January 23, 2003 at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera Road from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M.  Funeral Services will be held Friday, January 24, 2003, 10:00 A.M. at Amazing Grace Lutheran Church, 12525 Potranco Road with the Rev. Dr. Edward Kern officiating.  Graveside Service and Interment will be held following the Service at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, 9944 Leslie Road.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Amazing Grace Lutheran Church Building Fund.  Condolences may be sent to the family at www.mem.com.
