Leslie Coy Ott

August 8, 1907 - November 28, 1999

Leslie Ott was born August 8, 1907, here in San Antonio, the 3rd of four sons born to Eugene Ott, a baker and his wife Emma.  Leslie grew up in San Antonio, and after completing his schooling, eventualy went to work for Ingram Equipment Company and finally the H.B. Zachry Corporation, where he ordered and worked with parts for their heavy equipment.  He retired from H.B. Zachry in 1972.

During his early working days, he met Amanda Braun --- probably at a dance hall, Amanda says --- and the two were married here in Zion's first church on November 11, 1937.  Their 62-year marriage produced a son, Melvyn, and their wonderful family ties have been a blessing to them ever since.  Leslie and Amanda also helped raise two different sets of nephews and nieces through the years.  It was sometime after Leslie and Amanda moved out to this Helotes area that they became members here at Zion --- Amanda's home church.  Leslie was a very faithful member.

In 1982 Leslie and Amanda moved to Boerne, where Leslie died in the Lord this past Sunday, November 28.

He is survived by his wife Amanda, son, Melvyn and wife Judy, grandchildren: Dale Ott and wife Debbie, and Loretta Ott Hand; and great-grandchildren: Heather Hand, and Linsay and Stephen Ott.
