Amanda Braun Ott

June 9 1907 - April 2, 2005

Amanda Ott passed away on April 2, 2005 at the age of 97.  She was one of eight children born to parents Amalia & William "Willie" Braun on June 9, 1907, in Helotes, Texas.  She was baptized into Christ's family on April 26, 1908 here at Zion.

On November 13, 1937, Amanda married Leslie Ott and they had one son, Mel Ott.  They were married 62 years until Leslie's death in 1999.

Amanda was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Hermann Sons and a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church.  At the time of her death Amanda was Zion's oldest member.

Her favorite things in life were being outside, especially in her vegetable garden or tending the fig trees, talking on the phone to her many friends and helping others.  She worked hard all her life, but still found time to laugh.

Amanda's life with us came to an end on Saturday, April 2, 2005.  We look forward to our resurrection day when all who believe will be reunited in Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband Leslie, three brothers and four sisters.  She is survived by her son Mel Ott and wife Judy; grandchildren Dale Ott and wife Debbie, Loretta Hand; great-grandchildren Lindsay Ott, Stephen Ott, Heather Hand; and great-great-grandson Christopher Hand; and numerous nieces and nephews.
