Melvin L. Michalczak, a resident of San Antonio, passed away Wednesday, February 3, 1988 at the age of 63 years. Mr. Michalczak was a retired Captain from the San Antonio Fire Department. Survivors: Wife, Shirley M. Michalczak; son, Bruce A. Michalczak; daughter, Sharyl Spear; brother, George Michalczak; sisters, Elsie Tezel, Agnes Braun, and Lucille Uhl; grandchildren, Shawn Ray Steubing, Wendy Michalczak, Jason Michalczak, Megan Ashley Michalczak, and Jamie Spear. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 5, 1998 at Oak Hills Mortuary Chapel. Family will receive friends at Oak Hills Mortuary on Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Services will be held Saturday, February 6, 1988 at 2:00 p.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church in Helotes with Dr. Gordon Kuenemann, Chaplain Malcom Hofffman and Pastor Elizabeth Lundquist officiating. Interment will follow in Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Helotes. Pallbearers will be Al Michalczak, Donald Scheidt, Vernon Schuchart, Gerald Nickel, Melvin Bippert, John Graham, Shawn Ray Steubing, and Jason Michalczak. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church Memorial Fund. Arrangements with:
