KARIGER



Edwin (Ed) J. Kariger, Jr. went to be with the Lord on June 20, 2008 at the age of 56.  Ed was born on November 15, 1951 in San Antonio, TX to Edwin J. and Margaret Kariger.  He graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1970 after which he became the youngest journeyman plumber (18 yrs).  Ed was a third generation plumber who worked for Northside I.S.D. for 38 years, as well as operating his own plumbing business Ed Kariger Plumbing for the past 38 years.  He was an avid volumteer in the community, where he was a life member of the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo, as well as Swine Superintendent for the Walter Gerlach Junior Livestock Show and Sale for over 10 years, and an Honorary Life Member of the Helotes 4-H.  Ed and his family took great pride in their contribution building the Helotes 4-H Activity Center.  Ed will be remembered as an amazing husband and father.  Ed is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Jeanette Kariger.  He is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Linda (Hoenow) Kariger, his son Wesley & his wife Michelle and their son Sean, his daughter Amanda Cockrell & her husband Allen, his sister Kathy May & husband Dan, father and mother-in-law Walter & Hermina Hoenow, and sister-in-law, Cindy & Michael Folsom.  The family will receive friends for a visitation at 5-9:00 P.M., Tuesday June 24, 2008 at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. at Zion Lutheran Church in Helotes, TX.  Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.  Sunset Northwest Funeral Home.
