Michael Hearn was born on October 26, 1951, in Conroe, Texas.  He grew up in the Church of Christ, and was baptized into Christ his Lord as a young teen.  Michael graduated from Sam Houston State University with degrees in English and German in 1975, and eventually went on to 9 years as a Marine Corps officer.  During that time he earned an M.A. degree from Loyola University in New Orleans.  It was also during that time that Michael decided to attend seminary.  He was ordained a minister of Word and Sacrament in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America on June 23, 1991.

Michael met Diane while on internship in Commanche, Texas.  They were married on September 1, 1991.  He and Diane moved to New Orleans where Michael had been called to serve Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.

A year later, Michael and Diane moved to San Antonio.  Michael went on to become a chaplain in the Army Reserves, and to do Clinical Pastoral Education units, first with the Baptist Hospital system and then, for the past two plus years, with the Audue Murphy Veteran's Hospital.

Michael is survived by his beloved wife, Diane, his twin brother Pat, and a whol host of other relatives, co-workers, fellow questers, and friends.
