Herman Julius Hamer (sic), 42 years old, died at his home, twelve miles from San Antonio on the Culebra road, at 3 o'clock Tuesday afternoon.  He was born in Guadalupe county, but had lived most of his life near San Antonio.  He belonged to the Masonic lodge, the Woodmen of the World and the Order of Hermann Sons.  He is survived by his widow, four children, his parents and four brothers.  The funeral was held from the home at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, with Rev. A. L. Wolff, pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church, in charge.  Interment was made in the Helotes cemetery
