HAND

Hilda Steubing Hand, born March 14, 1901 in Bexar County, died September 20, 1987.  She was the widow of Preston L. Hand, founder of Hand Butane Gas Co.  She was preceded in death by a son, Richard McColloch.  She is survived by daughters, Gloria Anderson of San Antonio, Tex. and Patricia Milford of Temple, Tex.; son, James G. Hand of Helotes, Tex; 10 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; sisters, Ada Krueger and Dorothy Writht; brother, Raymond Steubing.  Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 22, 1987, at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church of Helotes.  The family will welcome visitors from 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday, September 21, 1987 at Oak Hills Mortuary.  The family appreciates the beauty of flowers, but would like to suggest a memorial of your choice or a memorial contribution to: Zion Lutheran Church of Helotes, Route 17 Box 118a, San Antonio, Texas 78238.  Arrangements with:

Mrs. Hand Dies At 86

Mrs. Preston L. Hand of Helotes died Sunday, Sept. 20, and was buried Tuesday morning, Sept. 22, in Zion Lutheran Cemetery.  She was 86 and a lifelong resident of the Helotes area.  She was the widow of the founder of Hand Butane Gas Co.  Survivors include two daughters, Gloria Anderson of Helotes and Patricia Milford of Temple; one son, James G. Hand of Helotes, two sisters, Ada Krueger and Dorothy Wright; a brother, Raymond Steubing; two great-great- grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and ten grandchildren.  Another son, Richard McColloch, preceded her in death.  Rev. Gordon Kuenemann offiated at the services at Zion Lutheran Church.
