GLASER


Col. Leonard Tulare Glaser, of San Antonio, TX, passed from this life December 12, 1999.  Col. Glaser was born October 10, 1919 in Tulare, CA when the train bearing his parents, Ben and Meta Glaser of San Antonio and Comfort, TX paused in its journey for that purpose.  Col Glaser graduated from Texas A & M in 1941 and entered into the Army Air Corps.  He so loved flying, military service, and the U.S. Air Force that he made it his career.  He was a Command Pilot and Command Missileman.  He retired in 1968 as Director of Test, Arnold Engineering and Development Center, Tullahoma, TN.  He then pursued a second career raising Tennessee Walking Horses in the hills and valleys of Moore County, TN, producing a World Champion of the breed.  He returned to San Antonio in 1992 to be close to his family and the beloved Hill Country where he was raised.  He is survived by his loving bride of 57 years, Lillie Rose nee Dew of San Antonio, three sons, six grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.  Memorial Services will be held in the Chapel of the Patriot Heights Retirement Community at 5000 Fawn Meadow Drive, San Antonio, TX at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday.  Presiding will be the Rev. Peter Manfred.  Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to Zion Lutheran Church of Helotes, 9944 Leslie Rd., San Antonio, TX 78254.
