
Carol Ann Geimer, born August 7, 1939 in Wheeling, WV, went to be with Jesus on Sunday, May 3. The world lost a truly caring person. Carol was a giver, who was always giving of herself and never expecting anything in return. She devoted her life to her husband and children and their children and to her many friends including those in her Beta Sigma Phi Soroity, and at the Ft. Sam P.X., where she was employed. She is joining her parents, Norman and Pauline Calvert who preceded her in death. She leaves behind her loving husband and four children, nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, all of whom she "loved dearly." She leaves, for a while, Ed, her husband of 41 years, "who was her true love." She also leaves four children, Susan Ann McCord, wife of Travis McCord and grandson, Kenneth and Jonathan Chucci, two great-grandchildren, Amber Rose Chucci and Miklo Chucci. Vickie Lynn Gateley wife of David Gateley, grandchildren, Amber, Desiree, Michael and Matthew. She also leaves behind two sons, Eugene E. Geimer Jr. and Vincent Geimer, wife Carlyn and grandchildren Austin, Ashley, and Aaron. She is survived by a brother, Donald Calvert of Wheeling, WV; sister-in-law and husband, Anita and Ben Bodnar; and brother-in-law and wife, Phil and Tommi Geimer, all of Wheeling. Carol was a graduate of Wheeling High School where she and Ed were high school sweethearts and members of the Wildcat Band. Shortly after graduation she left Wheeling to join her husband on his twenty-four year career in the Air Force. They enjoyed tours in Wiesbaden, Germany, Shaw AFB in South Carolina, Luke AFB in Phoenix, AZ, Clark AB in the Philippines and Scott AFB in Illinois. She has resided in San Antonio for the past twenty years. Carol worked for the Army, Air Force Exchange Service for 24+ years. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Helotes where she served as usher and as a member of the Altar Guild. She was a life member of Beta Sigma Phi and had been a member for 31 years. Her current chapter is Preceptor Phi. She also was a 28-year member of the Order of Eastern Star, Sumter, S.C. Chapter No. 188. Vistation will be 11:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 5, 1998 at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera Road. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, May 6, 1998 at Zion Lutheran Church of Helotes, 9944 Leslie Road. Interment will follow in Zion Lutheran Cemetery of Helotes. Carol wished to express her thanks to all her friends at work, in her sorority, and at church for helping to make her life happy. She said that she didn't want her friends to grieve for her but to remember the happy times. In lieu of flowers, it was Carol's wish that donations be made to a memorial at Zion Lutheran Church of Helotes.
