CARL GASS, FARMER, DIES AT AGE 85 YEARS
Carl Gass, 85, retired farmer, died at his home on the Castroville Road Monday morning. He was a native of Germany, coming to this country and to Bexar County when three years old. He was a member of Helotes Lodge, Herman Sons. Funeral services will be held at the home Tuesday afternoon by Rev. W. W. Laubach of the Helotes Lutheran Church. Interment will be in the Helotes Cemetery. Survivors are three sons, Fritz, Robert and Otto Gass; eight daughters, Mrs. D. Bormann, Mrs. Minnie Seewald, Mrs. Meta Tezel, Mrs. Willie Tezel, Mrs. O. B. Stolte, Mrs. Eddie Steubing, Mrs. Ida Weidner and Mrs. Herbert Skolout of Bexar County; sister-in-law Mrs. Louise Gass of Comfort; 32 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.
