Christina Finlayson Ford

November 29, 1930 - October 19, 2002

Christina was born November 29, 1930 in West Haven Angus, Scotland, the fifth of six children born to Christina and Robert Finlayson.  She was baptized into the Christian faith on February 13, 1931 at Parish of Panbrite in Scotland and confirmed into the Lutheran faith on September 12, 1954.

Chris met her future husband, Bob Ford while he was stationed in England, and they were married on January 31, 1952.  This marriage blessed them with two children, Leni and Darryll.  Chris was a nurse who turned homemaker after the birth of her children.  She spent time enjoying family picnics and vacations.

Chris enjoyed assisting her husband, "the magician," in his magic shows which took them as far as Canada and England.

Chris and Bob joined Zion Lutheran Church in December 1971 where she was active in the Zion Zippers and Dorcas Circle.  Chris will always be a part of Zion history; she was the first woman to serve on a Zion church council.

Christina's life with us came to an end on Saturday, October 19, 2002.  We look forward to our resurrection day when all who believe will be reunited in Christ.

She is survived by her daughter, Leni Vale; son Darryll Ford; grandchildren Gerry Vale and Alyssa Ford; great-grandson Julian Vale; sisters Ena Munro and Dorothy Nesbitt; and numerous nieces and nephews.
