FORD


Robert C. "Bob" Ford, age 70, passed away Monday, April 2, 2001.  Bob was a member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians, Magic Circle of Great Britian and Helotes Masonic Lodge.  He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Christina F. Ford; daughter, Leni Vale; son Darryl Ford; grandchildren, Gerry Vale and Alyssa Ford; great-grandson, Julian Vale; brother, Howard Ford and wife Bettie; nieces and nephews.  The Ford family will receive friends for a Visitation 6:00-9:00 P.M., Wednesday, April 4, 2001 at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home.  Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M., Thursday, April 5, 2001 at Zion Lutheran Church of Helotes.  Interment will follow at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Helotes, TX.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Zion Lutheran Church of Helotes.

Robert C. "Bob" Ford

January 2, 1931 - April 2, 2001

Robert C. Ford was born January 2, 1931 in Olean, New York to Howard and Florence (Sheiterle) Ford.  He was baptized into the church and Christ his Lord on March 1, 1931 at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Olean.  On March 25, 1945 Bob confirmed his faith and received his First Communion at Emanuel Lutheran.  He was educated in the Olean schools and was graduated from Olean High School in 1948.

Bob worked for W.T. Grants Variety Stores for a couple of years and also performed as a magician.  He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1950.  While stationed in England, he was united in marriage to Christina Finlayson on January 31, 1952.  Bob continued to entertain with his magic and bacame a member of the Birtish Magic Circle.  He retired from the Air Force in 1975.  He and Christina made their home in San Antonio and became members of Zion Lutheran Church in December 1971.  Bob has served on the Cemetery Board and was a member of the Zion Zippers.

Bob passed over the threshold of death on Monday, April 2, 2001, at the age of 70 years and 3 months.  Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, William.  He is survived by his beloved wife, Christina; a daughter, Leni Vale and a son, Darrell Ford, both of San Antonio; a grandson, Gerry Vale, and a granddaughter, Alyssa Ford; a great-grandson, Julian Vale; and a brother, Howard and wife, Bettie Ford of Warren, PA.
