
Marvin G.A. Eckert, longtime San Antonio resident, entered into eternal rest on January 28, 2004 at the age of 82. He was born May 2, 1921 in Fredericksburg, TX, to William and Fernanda Klier Eckert. Mr. Eckert served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. He was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Eckert on July 14, 1999; parents, three sisters and two brothers. Mr. Eckert is survived by his beloved wife, Minnie O. Eckert; son, Dennis Eckert and wife Sherry of Weatherford; two daughters, Brenda Eckert and Gale Combs, both of San Antonio; daughter-in-law, Penny Eckert of San Antonio; six grandchildren, Erin Snow and husband Eric, Frank Saragoza and wife Amanda, Crystal Tharp, Julie Eckert, Jerry Eckert II and Kairee Eckert; great-grandson, Steven Tharp; two sisters, Emma Itz and Alma Pehl, both of Fredericksburg and one sister-in-law, Myrtle Eckert of Fredericksburg. Other survivors include numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation for Mr. Eckert will be held on Sunday, February 1, 2004 from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 2, 2004 at 2:00 P.M. at Zion Lutheran Church. Concluding Services and Interment will follow at Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Service arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Mission Park Funeral Chapels North.
