Carl H. Ebert, Jr. age 95, passed away Saturday, February 16, 2008.  He was born in San Antonio, TX to Carl August & Meta Ebert.  He grew up on Culebra Road attending the old Culebra School and later resided in Leon Valley.  As a young man, Carl worked for White Ranch in Bandera, TX.  He then went on to proudly serve his country as an infantryman in the Army during World War II to include the Philippines and New Guinea.  Carl returned and went to work for Chemical Express, where he retired after many years of service.  He was a lifetime member ot the La Coste VFW Post 8134.  He will be dearly remembered for his witty character and sense of humor.  Carl was preceded in death by parents, his wife Thryza Ebert and siblings Richard, Olga, Edwin and Edna. He is survived by his beloved brother Hilmar Ebert.  He leaves a loving legacy to his nephew Eugene Patterson and his niece Connie Antonikowski and numerous other nieces & nephews.  A visitation will be held 7-8:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home.  A funeral service will be held 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment will follow at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Helotes.  The family of Carl Ebert would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Dr. John Anes, Dr. Gil Robinson, the employees of Heartland Manor Care North, Northeast Baptist hospital and Stonebrook Manor for all their patience, love, kindness & compassionate care for Carl.  Sunset Northwest Funeral Home.
