Dominick Lucion Casella

September 6, 1923 - November 24, 2002

Dominick was born September 6, 1923 in Chicago, Illinois, the youngest of nine children born to Maria (DeVito) and Domenico Casella.  He was baptized into the faith at St. Matthew's Catholic Church in Chicago.

Dominick married Marguerite, his wife of 57 years, on August 9, 1945 at Grace Lutheran Church in Chicago.  This marriage blessed them with two daughters, Linda and Michele.

Dominick was proud of his service to our county in the United States Army's 10th Mountain Division.  He was very active in the reunion groups of the 10th.  Dominick spent his post-military career working with Commonwealth Edison, where he spent 35 years.

Dominick and Marguerite have been active members of Zion since September 1984 where he previously served as president of the Zion Zippers 55+ group.  Dominick was also an active member of Pompeo Coppini Order of the Sons of Italy, Northwest Alliance and the Northwest Crossing Home Owners Assn.

Dominick's life with us came to an end on Sunday, November 24, 2002 after a 40 year battle with heart trouble.  He left our company while doing things he loved: visiting with his family over dinner.  We give thanks to God this day for the life that was shared with us in Dominick Casella.

As proud as he was of his military service, he was yet more proud of his family.  They will remember him always for his caring heart, both for family and for others in need.  Dominick is survived by his wife, Marguerite; daughters Linda Salitore and Michele Brinkley; granddaughters, Gina Salitore and C.C. Brinkley; sister, Mary Volpi; numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

The family would like to thank all those who offered their love and support.

"We are no longer alone."
