Mr. William 'Bill' Benke, age 88, passed away Sunday, June 6, 2004 in Fredericksburg. Mr. Benke is survived by a daughter and her husband, Crystal and Edward Skolaut of Fredericksburg; four grandchildren, Lisa Bendele Saegert, Randall Bendele and wife Melissa, Kelli Siemering and husband John, and Holli Thomas and husband Curtis; nine great-grandchildren, Lauren, Blake, Amber, Colton, Jackson, Price, Carson, Tyler and Abbigale. Graveside Services for Mr. Benke will be held 10:00 A.M., Friday, June 11, 2004 in Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Helotes with Rev. David Schulte officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, June 10, 2004 at 5:00-8:00 P.M. in Beckmann Funeral Home. Memorials for Mr. Benke may be given to Zion Lutheran Church in Helotes, H.C.M.H. Hospice or to the charity of one's choice. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred 'Chick' Benke; son, William Gregory Benke; grandson, Alan Bendele; grandson-in-law, Steve Saegert; and six brothers, Roy, Robert, Gus, John, Daniel, Arthur. He owned and operated Benke Septic Systems.
