Tommie Benke, 97, passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2008.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Earle Benke and grandson, Scott McElwee.  Tommie is survived by her children, Earlene McElwee and husband Roy of Taft, Texas, Wayne Benke and wife Barbara of San Antonio; 6 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.  Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 9, 2008 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home on Bandera Road.  A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, January 10, 2008 at Zion Lutheran Church of Helotes, 9944 Leslie Road at Braun Rd and Loop 1604 with Rev. Jennifer Gold and Rev.
