Martha Benke, born October 5, 1897 in the area where Marshall High School is now located, died on November 14, 1993 at the age of 96 years. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Alfred Benke, her parents, five brothers, and one sister. She was the last of her immediate family. She is survived by a sister-in-law, Mrs. Edna Benke Davenport, numerous nieces and nephews and many friends and loved ones. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 16, 1993 in the Chapel of Sunset Northwest Funeral Home with Rev. Andrew Szegedin, Jr., of St. Matthews Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will follow in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Helotes. Visitation will begin at 5:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home.
