Susanna Elise (Tezel) Ahr, entered eternal rest, March 3, 2004, at the age of 88.  She was born August 29, 1915 in Bexar County.  She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.  She was a member of Vineta Lodge No. 15 of the Sons of Hermann.  Susie had served as President and a member of the Finance Committee of her lodge.  Susie was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Samuel L. Ahr; parents, Hermann and Metha (Gass) Tezel; brothers, Ernest and Otto Tezel; a baby daughter and her grandson, Bryson Carter Ahr.  She is survived by her children, Marguerite Ann and James Hassold, Herman and Barbara Ahr, Katherine and John William O'Hanlon, Homer and Carol Ahr, Marshall and Gail Ahr, Sylvia Ahr OSB, John and Beverly Ahr, Frances and Robert Sandera; 22 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.  Visitation will be 6:00 P.M. on Friday, March 5, 2004 with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. at Zizik-Kearns Riebe-Saunders Funeral Home.  Funeral Mass will be 10:00 A.M., Saturday, March 6, 2004 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.  Entombment will follow at the Annunciation Cemetery Mausoleum at St. Hedwig, TX.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.  The family would like to express their special thanks to Vitas Hospice, Dr. Richard Lochte and the Benedictine Sisters.  Zizik-Kearns Riebe-Saunders Funeral Home. .
