Texas.Net Helpdesk - Windows 95/98

Below are the setup instructions for the Windows operating systems and their respected mail clients. Setup is very easy and fast. The setup instructions will guide you through, step-by-step on how to connect with Texas Net.


Dial-Up Networking Setup for Windows 98
Configure Windows 95 to use the Internet here. This section will install various Internet drivers and prepare your system to dial and connect to Texas.Net. If you are upgrading from Windows 3.x, be sure to follow these instructions. You do not want to be using Trumpet Winsock with Windows 95/98.

Installing Microsoft Internet Explorer
Download and/or install Microsoft's Internet Explorer. This will serve as your web browser and will simplify your Internet setup. You can also use MSIE's built-in mail and news clients, Internet Mail and News. This document will take you through the setup for these programs as well.

Installing and Configuring Outlook Express

Installing Netscape Web Browser
Download and/or install Netscape's Web Browser. This will serve as your web browser, but will not affect your Internet setup. Netscape does not simplify your Internet setup as MSIE does, but it is the preferred browser of many Internet users. It too comes with built-in mail and news support as well.

Installing and Configuring Eudora Lite
Eudora Lite is one of the most popular email clients available. Especially when it comes to handling attachments. Included are the setup instructions on how to get started using Eudora.
