Texas.Net MacOS X Setup

The following instructions will show you how to set up the internet in Mac OS X.

  1. Click on your Apple Menu when not in Classic mode.
  2. Select System Preferences.
  3. Click on the Network Icon in the top of the window.
  4. Click on the pull down menu next to "Show:" and select show all connections.
  5. Make sure that only the internal modem is selected and then change show to internal modem.
  6. On the TCP/IP tab in the DNS Servers box put

    • 207.207.0.3
    • 206.127.0.3
    • In the Search Domains box put texas.net

  7. On the PPP tab put

    • Service Provider: texas.net
    • Account Name: (your login name)
    • Password: (your password)
    • Telephone Number: (dialup phone number for the city you are in.
    • Alternate Number: (leave blank)

  8. On the Proxies tab make sure that "Use Passive FTP Mode" is checked.
  9. On the Modem tab make sure that your modem is selected.
  10. Click "Apply Now" at the bottom of the window and then quit the system preferences.
  11. From the telephone icon in the menu bar at the top of your screen you can select "Connect" to get online with texas.net
