How to Change Your Dialup Number
Here is a short guide on how to change the dialup number on the various
operating systems we support.
Windows 95 and Windows 98
- Double click on the My Computer icon.
- Double click on the Dial-Up Networking icon.
- Click on the Texas.Net icon (or the connection you use to connect
to Texas.Net) with your right mouse button.
- Select Properties from the menu that pops up.
- Under the General tab you will see a box in which the current
phone number is displayed.
- Change the phone number in this box, and click on OK to save your changes.
Close the Dialup Networking window.
For Windows NT 4.0
- Double click on the My Computer icon.
- Double click on the Dial-Up Networking icon.
- Select the Texas.Net Phonebook entry from the drop down list.
- Click on More and then "Edit entry and modem properties".
- Under the Basic tab you will see a box in which the current
phone number is displayed.
- Change the phone number in this box, and click on OK to save
your changes. Close the Dialup Networking window
Mac PPP (Remote Access)
- Goto Apple Menu > Control Panel > PPP (Remote
Access).
- Find the Number field, and then type in the correct number.
- When you are done, close the panel and save the changes.
Mac FreePPP
- Goto the FreePPP menu, and then choose FreePPP setup.
- Choose the Accounts Tab, then select the TexasNet connection.
- Click on the Edit button.
- Enter the correct phone number in the appropriate field. When done,
click OK, then close the window.
