   In Mr. Short's painting The Battle of the Bismark Sea, the image to the left, he has captured that unique balance of action between aviation and nautical characters to portray the USAAF 5th AF's assault against the Imperial Japanese Navy's monopoly in the South Pacific.
Spruce Goose image, 22k    Continuing with the aviation and nautical theme, Michael Short was commissioned by the Evergreen Museum, the current owners of Howard Hughes HK-1 "Flying Goose," to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of this famous aircraft's first flight.    Due to our unique contacts in Russia and the Ukraine, we are able to organize visits of military airbases with permission, and with full security clearance, to take photographs and fly any type of operational military aircraft. These trips are primarily for the serious aviation photographer, enthusiast, and adventurer.
